Proposal
Multiple changes to the token payout of space duty missions.

1. Removal of the double duty token payout for doing overt duty missions
2. 50% increase to payouts of all duty missions. This should be at every stage of the duty mission so that the final payout is 150% of what a standard payout is now.
3. Completing a duty mission while flagged SF will now add a supplemental ammount of Station tokens on top of the Duty tokens.
Justification
No more enticing players who don't want pvp to flag up for pve rewards. Station tokens can be the pvp reward moving forward. Lowering the total payout of duty tokens is in line with the removal of any possiblity of duties being cut short by opposing players. This payout is now also supplemented by the prestige system.
Motivation
Players feel like they are forced to flag SF to get the best payout as it is now. This has built animosity between those players that want pvp vs the players that just want to farm pve tokens.
Pilots, you have opinions. Lets hear them.

As someone that enjoys farming, ill give you the upvote simply to not have to have said farming interrupted by pvp.

Thats what space battles and deep space are for after all.

I like this - I also wouldnt be apposed to attach this exact "50%" increase instead of a flat amount no matter what, to attach it to the prestige system. 10/10/10/20/5 or somthing along those lines. But Im cool with just the 50% increase flat as well. - Just an alternative idea. To make it earned. I also love how you are giving imo more meaning to pvp overt with the battle tokens. Incentivizing it, would be cool to be able to go overt, and get these for the aoa vendor/ Dash Nunes per the once a year event. Couldn't agree more with this idea. Everyone is still incentivized. Would be a much better system. Now pve farmers, while overt arent chasing the primary farming token when they go overt, they are chasing an un-needed, and totally optional, better way to target loot, via void event, and thats the risk now. - And it would truly inspire a more of a a choice, that isnt an illusion. Man, great idea! +50 if I could

I like this idea. Gives both PvP and PvE spacers a choice instead of just getting bad fights and farming salt. Making it a baseline change instead of prestige locked is also good with how slow space prestige is compared to other categories.

Upvote here.

As a habitual PvE player, I approve of this. For times when I want to PvP, I can go to space battles and DS with the reward potential for Station Tokens.

Simple fix, eliminates "noise" in the space community and allows grinders to grind.

Yeah I support it.

I'll often still run overt because I love scanning DIs for convoys and have begun to enjoy the constant on your toes. But there's tines I simply just wanna cheese it and just go through the motions and with the current system you simply can't not go overt 100% bonus was simply too much to pass up.

But it makes sense to seperate what's PVE and what's PVP many simply don't want to PVP or enjoy it and it's sadly driven quite a few away of late. Who simply won't put the time investment in n for duties not SF after so long of double.

O feel the solution mentioned is a good one it's not a massive nerf to the PVE crowd and still provides a good incentive to run them SF.

On the proviso that all three elements of this are implemented at the same time, I am sponsoring this.

For too long the double tokens from SF have hampered catch-up for newer players and encourage bad faith actors to keep the community from growing.

If this does prove to reduce PvP I am sure there are other ideas in this community that could encourage that growth once more, particularly if this idea does prove to grow the spacing community overall.

Downvoted. There needs to be more to this before it is implemented. In the current state it’s not enough. There needs to be more of an incentive to flag PvP. Station tokens alone are not enough. This completely goes against the “risk reward” idea. Calling players “bad faith actors” because they enjoy an aspect of the game is itself bad faith acting. The idea of not being able to “catch up” is also misrepresented by a majority of new players here on resto that feel vet players have a leg up somehow in regards to parts. Resto space is in the best position it’s been since the server launched. Give a better incentive to flag PvP with this PV, as it stands I do not agree with it.

Then surely this is something that needs addressing rather than tarring all new players with the same brush. Explain how its not the case.

PVP needs looked at in general. It should never have been attached at such a rate to what's essentially PVE content.

I understand why it was done it just should have been a much lower rate. As all it achieved was make PVE pilots feel they had to as 100% was just too large an incentive. Then the well don't go SF argument comes back to the why is someone who enjoys PVP time twice as rewarding argument.

Ganked on a duty isn't PVP as 99% aren't running a duty in a PVP ship.

That's what the DS duty was done for so you could take that PVP ship to a duty.

The single biggest boost for PVP right now will be neut players showing on the intelipad and we as a community making it happen.

I'm a pants pilot these days but guarantee id rock up to any and all PVP events, let's get something running regular ala brias Sunday night skirmish when people from all servers would dive on and head to DS on live.

Let's get some 1v1 tourneys set up. (Can't remember how we did this on live can you even duel in space lol)

They do but not because loots are better or rewards or anything like that just comes down to time invested.

But like the life span of the majority of MMOs as time goes by things change to allow newer players to catch up.

I have my own thoughts on this but would be shot down in a second by the space community so just never raise them as you just get told to f off to legends or such like.

What exactly are you trying to catch up too? Letts has one of the better xwings on the server. He’s not been here long. So where is the gate? This entire argument stems from “I want the max payout, and I don’t want to be killed”. Farming duties non overt is more than viable to get parts. This has been a repeating theme each and everytime this sever gets a new influx of players. In my opinion, it does not need addressing. However, I get opinions vary. And as I stated before, this idea needs more to promote PvP than its current form. I’d bet if this is implemented as is, you will see none of these players that are upvoting it flag overt after implementation. This is the PVE crowd mobbing for change. They have no interest in PvP, they only want unihibited token farming at the max rate possible.

Again, pushing the overt button means you accept pvp. You should be of the mindset that you ARE going to get pvp. Paying attention, pushing z, using IFF goes a long way. The nuet player on the Intel pad is a weak crutch. As I’ve stated before, I see imps and Rebs ping on the pad, and NONE of you go after eachother. You are happily farming. There are 4ish people that chase pings. I sat flagged for hours on my Reb last week multiple nights. None of you pve farmers came. So just stop already.

I believe if you gave more things to spend station tokens on, youll have more pvp with this PV. Ive also spent countless ingame DAYS farming. Not what an average player trying to "catch-up" could realistically do.

Just throwing that out there, but thanks for the brag on my ship lol

Was more a more people will show, not a I'm constantly using to see who's up there or not pressing z etc.

I've been killed the last few months by a lot more than just you guys and tbh maybes only 3 of about 20 unique players have been in factional ships.

So say for arguments sake 75% of those looking for PVP (aren't showing on the pad then complain they can't find PVP when I dare say many are intentionally neutral for that very reason.

It's not gonna suddenly take the numbers to massive highs but it's probably going to create a lot more targets and people pinging.
