Implemented Hybrid Smuggler Slicing Improvements

Proposal
1.) Increase the slicing mat payout from Underworld Smuggler missions significantly. At least 3x current.
2.) Allow smugglers to "breakdown" armor and weapons that have been sliced previously to get mats. This would be useful for gear that is broken beyond repair.
3.) Remove Slicing Mats from BH missions. They're lucrative enough.
4.) Improve smuggler's combat abilities to make the PVP missions more fun and competitive against master bounty hunters.
a.) Reckless shot needs to have a much higher damage modifier, considering the debuff it places.
b.) Low Blow and overwhelming shot need to either be re-worked or buffed considerably. Right now they are lackluster and worse versions of CM debuffs.
c.) Make all smuggler abilities open to melee. The pistol/TK pre-reqs are extremely limiting, and melee smuggler would add a fun new element to it. It will not be a balance issue because smuggler
Justification
Right now the best way to get slicing mats is to not be a smuggler. BH get way more slicing mats from BH missions, which are also faster and generate more credits.
Motivation
Make slicing a valuable service again
I have always fought for all skill trees to be viable and fun to play. Giving smugglers more control over slicing and collecting the mats will help increase the representation of smugglers in the active population.

As for 4:

MUS smuggler missions will be no fun if you don't stand a chance against a decent BH. In order to make the PVP missions more enticing, a few simple combat buffs would go a long way and make slicing mats more fun.

How about allowing smugglers to slice harvesters for temporary BER buff or factories for temporary speed buff?

How about allowing smugglers to slice harvesters for temporary BER buff or factories for temporary speed buff?
I think if we went down that road, smugglers could end up slicing everything in the game. I'm not saying it's a bad idea - but it would be a much bigger conversation to decide how it would be done and what things make sense. I could see a factory speed slice except we already have an ENT buff. Harvesters could be done but there would need to be a trade-off (double power and maintenance consumption, etc..) because if not you'll have the 'Slicing Fairy' visiting all the Harvesters in the galaxy free of charge and I don't think anyone would buy off on that.

From a general sense tho - yes - creative ways to incorporate smugglers into more gameplay and give them meaning would be huge. I've suggested slicing the med buff bot for decreased fees, people have suggested the random magseal containers..we could probably put together some good ideas - but selling them to the big dogs would be one thing and getting them implemented would be another. I wouldn't mind better BER tho, haha

also do not forget that this is already in game for smugglers to do in space
if you are a smuggler and run the space Piracy/convoy flight plans you also get additional smuggler stuff on top of a chance for good space loot. the current loot for smugglers is below
Underworld shinies (only appears if you're a Smuggler with the convoy mission)
Security Rating 1: 20 Underworld Faction points + Tier 1 Contraband items + 2-6 Illegal Pistol Modules
Security Rating 2: 30 Underworld Faction points + Tier 2 Contraband items + 4-6 Illegal Pistol Modules
Security Rating 3: 40 Underworld Faction points + Tier 3 Contraband items + 4-6 Illegal Pistol Modules
Security Rating 4: 50 Underworld Faction points + Tier 4 Contraband items + 4-6 Illegal Pistol Modules
Security Rating 5: 60 Underworld Faction points + Tier 5 Contraband items + 4-6 Illegal Pistol Modules

i am not a smuggler and don't know how rewarding the extra loot is(our guild smuggler said it was worth it) but maybe its something that can be upgraded, loot wise, to make it more rewarding for smugglers.......and it is in space
this is my plug to get more players in space

Fair enough, for my suggestions i was thinking they use the slicing tools like when slicing armor/weapons, maybe give some better use to the ones not frequently used. There should definately be other trade offs (maintence costs, power costs, hopper/output size, condition - if they ever follow through with the threat to add decay lol).

Master Underworld Smuggler should have some slicing benifit over non-masters. To start I would propose a 1/2% damage increase over the current max of 8% bringing the bonus to 8.5%. The other slicing skills could be upgraded as well. This would have to be fleshed out.

This slicing buff would really give smugglers the incentive to pursue the Master Underworld content and title. As they would be the highly sought after if this change was made.

I think the slicing of mission terminals needs a boost as well, I hardly see. Difference in mission payouts.

I just finished the underworld missions on Tatooine, and all my extra contraband is useless, so I sold it all for a measly 1k for a set of 5. Doesn't seem to be that big a deal for a restricted item.

I do agree that smuggler skills should be better for melee, not just pistol. My build is master smuggler/fencer and I feel like my smuggler side isn't boosting my melee as much as it could.

It'd be cool that if installations were sliced, they'd have a chance to get raided by the empire and the minerals confiscated. Like a 1-2% chance lol. Slicing is illegal after all.

I think having Smuggler Low Blow also be a knock down again would be great. I cant remember but didn't they use to have a luck or opportune chance bonus built into the tree also.

I would like to see a QOL improvement for both smugglers and crafters i.e WS with grenades. It would be amazing to allow a lvl 1 slice only on a factory crate. To do a slice for people 1 at a time is a time waster and inventory issue for the commando. if you could slice the factory crate it would be quick, easy and allow for increased slicing business. No consumable is required for this so its a straight QOL request.

I think having Smuggler Low Blow also be a knock down again would be great. I cant remember but didn't they use to have a luck or opportune chance bonus built into the tree also.
Would be cool for a knockdown or force kneel with a short root.
