Proposal
Stop Pets From Attacking Nests While On "DEFEND"
Justification
They attack nests while set to defend and they should not be, causing all kinds of problems.
Motivation
They attack nests when they shouldnt be.
I am finding this to be incredibly annoying. My pets while on "defend" should only be attacking enemies that hit me. As soon as I kill one creature, they immediately start attacking the nest, drawing everything the area to them. Pls make it stop. Nests do not hit back, and therefore pets should never attack a nest unless told to do so. For some reason your pet is behaving like a creature nest has attacked you.

1. Stop pets from attacking nests while set to "DEFEND"
2. Also have them attack enemies that attack them while on "DEFEND" Im seeing them just sit there doing nothing while some enemy shoots them from range..

I've never had this and tested this multiple times today and this doesnt happen unless i actively attack the nest myself. Make sure youre not running any target macro or attack macro that is causing the pet to attack the lair.

Im also finding Defensive is working correcrtly and pets dont attack while in passive mode, which also seems to be working correctly. I had another person test these and saw no issues, so I'd suggest you double and triple check the abilities you are using so you know they are the correct ones as its easy to make that mistake.

Either way, this wouldnt be a Player Voice as what you are explaining is a defect from what the abilities should do, therefore you need to raise a bug report. Player Voice is for suggestions to enhancements, not highlighting in game issues.

If you havent done any damage to the nest yet, then no they do not attack it. But if you have attacked it, they still should not be since the mode only has the pet respond to YOU being hit. The nest does not hit you, therefore the pet should not ever attack the nest while in defense mode.

I posted it here because I think its intended behavior and not a bug.

If you have attacked the nest but stopped to fight creatures that spawned instead, your pet will keep attacking the nest unless you change it to passive and it will stay there by the nest unless you specifically tell it to follow you, then turn it back to defense mode. The annoying thing about that then, is that even though you are being hit, the pet will ignore that and go straight back to attacking the nest unless you spam click it to attack your target.

Also, I think if other people are experiencing this they can confirm it and voice whether or not it needs to be changed.

Once you have damaged the nest you generate hate between the nest and your character, which initializes the nest itself as an enemy and makes the pet attack it. We can review an adjustment to this logic if it has broad community support.

I'd like to add my support for this. I am a CH and love it, but when clearing nests solo I always use my droid. My droid on guard only attacks anything that attacks me. Whereas the pet on defend attacks anything that I'm in combat with. This means that once I tap the nest it attacks constantly and does not pull off to defend me while its attacks spawn every creature the nest has to give who all attack me. There was another PV around droids taking on this same behaviour. As I said there, I'd love to see a guard and assist option implemented for both familiars, allowing us to select which behaviour we wanted from either.
