Proposal
Make it so Jedi eject LD when they log out in a Heroic. The world shouldn't be safe for them. For instance, I murdered a LD Jedi today who logged out on Mustafar. Why should Heroics be any different?
Justification
Too many safe spots in the game with all these Heroics.
Motivation
There are already many unfair additions to this server to help coddle Jedi. Heroics need revamping anyway. This is a good first step.
Latest fashion is Jedi logging out at the end of a Heroic instead of ejecting, then hopping on an alt. Spirit of SWG should be fight, run, or die. Not log out. If you log out in the game world, especially risking your life running end-game content, you should be defenseless and ready to die.

Everyone here is free to agree or disagree. Some people made some good points, but I still feel like you guys are missing the core fundamentals of my suggestion.

And I understand why someone wouldn't want LD to eject someone from a Heroic. I completely get it. I just ask you to consider my suggestion and thoughts on the mechanic of LD and why it exists. Right now, it seems like everyone vocal is against me. I know a lot of people who agree with me, who aren't saying anything. Aconite included. And he's the owner of the server, so that should count for something.

I said what I wanted to say on the subject, so I don't think there is much more to be said (by me). I have heard that there is already discussion behind the scenes on how to fix it, and considerations and being made, and solutions are being offered. That's all I'm going to say.

Have a good night.

Again, there is a clear distinct difference between an instanced Heroic where end game characters farm hundreds of millions of credits per week, to a Jedi standing in their private home, risking nothing. Forgive me if I ignore anything else you just said, but before you acknowledge this difference I rather not discuss further.

EDIT: this is without acknowledging that there are breach charges on this server so standing in a home is not safe for any Jedi over 500k bounty.
Let's use an example:

A Jedi with a bounty is completing a heroic, and you couldn't catch them before they made it inside an instance.
In fear, they choose to log out at the end of that instance and switch to another character.
Due to bounty hunter influence, they cannot continue to use that character to incur financial gain.
If that Jedi was the battlemed, the group needs to find another one.
No heroic group is going to wait for the bounty hunters to lose interest before proceeding to the next instance.
If they did, then Jedi would just take ~10-15 minutes to drop visibility between each heroic, and this would never be an issue in the first place.
They are no longer benefitting from the strength of Jedi, if that character was required for nightmare, then they can't proceed with the run.
Your actions have therefore barred that particular Jedi from using their character to benefit in any way, and this is no different from being ghosted.
The only thing they are banking on is that you do lose interest and drop their bounty, only then does logging out inside an instance benefit them.

LD and why it exists. ----- Umm it does not exist because of Jedi/BH. Plus if you have heard from the devs that they are already working on fixing it what was the point of this PV?

I was told about that AFTER I made this post. Sorry. EDIT: LD does not exist because of Jedi/BH. LD exists so people can't pull their connection or log-out to immediately avoid in-game consequences. Why do I even have to explain that?

Okay, yes. All of this is true. But again, a player should not be able to logout to avoid repercussions while completing extremely dangerous content that generates millions of credits. Heroics are not Sanctum. Heroics are not The Ranch. All of these are SAFEHOUSES. A SAFEHOUSE, Heroics are not. As far as Bounty Hunting is concerned, considerations and alterations should be made to bring Heroics on par with open world content. In some way shape of form or another. LD ejecting is exactly that. I am even for compromises, IE: LD Ejecting won't start until after a certain bounty or visibility. This is all completely fine. I won't get into the details. I have to go, have a good discussion.

This sounds more like an isolated issue which may need reported to the support team if a specific jedi individual continues to make use of this mechanic specifically to avoid bounties. I personally do not see this warranting an extra line of code added or removed to the game unless it's a widespread issue which it is not. Downvote from me.
As a sidenote, it's hard to take this seriously when you just come off as bitter and vindictive in the original post and all of your replies. Many people have responded to this PV with sound arguments and reasoning while you simply ignore them, belittle their posts or refuse to pause for a second and reflect on what they are saying.

I have yet to see any Jedi log out while in an instance. It's not really any different from logging out at a set-on-private player house in the odd case it might happen. Or hell, managing to escape and logging out in a secure location. Or logging out before the bounty hunter gets there.
And when it comes to Hoth, this instance takes over an hour, sometimes close to two hours, to complete.

It's a downvote from me, because even if the Jedi logged out, their vis/status on the bounty board doesn't reset. Once they are on the board, it's a death sentence. Even if they get pve ghosted, and then return 18 hours after that. It's technically possible to get ghosted in a heroic, un-ghost a day later, and get ghosted again by a BH group less than an hour after the fact.

As others have already pointed out, if a Jedi *DOES* do this to log-out, it's only doing exactly what being ghosted would accomplish, removing the Jedi from the active world.

A group is allowed to make use of the instance timer. That currently includes the LD counter before the character is removed from the world. /shrug

There is no LD counter on logging out in a structure. Its instant. How have you breached LD characters in private structures?

He's likely referring to public structures he has been banned from.

The /logout command also exists, which removes you from the game without LD. Which you'd know if you even had a modicum of common sense.

Whining to whine.

Why in 2 pages does no one talk about this that /logout gets around all of it...

This suggestion only punishes people that crash inside of instances and when the game isn't smooth and people crash often this is silly. Lets also not pretend the LD is in the game to stop people from plugging to avoid things lmao

Part of being a bounty hunter is waiting, and some Jedi choose to impede their gameplay loop to attempt to hinder you, and I see waiting for them as just part of the job.
This is interesting. I don't see why we couldn't create an object that allows you to monitor a specific area for a specific Jedi and gives you a ping/sound, so you could be alt tabbed on another character doing something else while waiting for a Jedi if you think they're going to eventually show up at a specific place. That's more realistic to the actual circumstances and appropriate for the lore and dynamics of Jedi being hunted.

Aside from the /logout vs LD talk, the suggestion still remains. There should be amplified punishment for a jedi logging out at the end of a Heroic to avoid the consequences of running a heroic. And yes, LD is to prevent a character from pulling their connection to avoid a combat related death. You obviously can't initiate a /logout in combat etc etc.

Having a bounty (jedi or smuggler) is N...O...T.. combat and /logout can be used anytime when not actually in combat. Now you are trying to equate having a bounty to actually being in combat. The consequences of running a heroic may or may not be enough vis to get on the bounty board. You can run heroics as a Padawan and not get enough vis to get on the boards. You really should try to understand how everything works before making these statements. Aconites comment above sounds interesting. I also would ask how you can gauge intent in this as well as if someone lost connection without trying to?

If a player DC's in the open world they stand there waiting for a jedi to kill them. Why would a Heroic be any different? SOE introduced themepark elements into a sandbox game. Restoration isn't here to replicate the SOE experience. It's here to improve it.

Again, I understand. The people here want their curated themepark experience. They want their many, frequent and obvious PVP free safe-zones. I fully understand. You don't have to explain your position on the matter anymore. I'm afraid I can't help but project. I don't even know why I'm on here arguing for the protection of sandbox elements on a server where people obviously prefer theme park curated experiences. It truly was a mistake on my part to suggest improvements to said curated experience.

So just how do you propose to do that? If it is your original force them to eject that has been adressed above but let me add how would you handle others that also are on the boards? Should that apply to all bounties? What about if they are 0 vis but go over sometime during the quest and don't even know yet they are.

Short point here is that the Vis system is meant to keep them hidden and being inside an instance is hidden. Basically you seem to be griping about something that happened to you but this impacts not just Jedi but all people who can be on the boards.

I'm completely open to a compromise. a 0 visibility no bounty board jedi should be spared when they DC in a heroic. But the jedi with a 1million + bounty who repeatedly abuses the logout feature in the heroics should not be spared. I made a suggestion, but it can be fine tuned accordingly.

You've failed to answer how you gauge intent, how widespread this issue is and whether or not you've reported the individual(s) "abusing" this so the issue can be reviewed by the support team and they may decide whether this is something that needs to be brought to the attention of the dev team. You are hell bent on making the SWG experience fit your agenda and while in this one instance it would improve -your- experience, it would also make life harder for non-jedi.

Recently a jedi was using city decor to dodge combat and the issue was addressed and fixed almost immediately because support was contacted. There was no PV and no such noise around changing an entire system over it. The player was reported, it was established the player was abusing said system and the issue was worked on. I will say again, if you experience jedi doing this over and over again, report it and if it's something that needs addressed, the devs will take care of it. You're making a PV out of what should be a bug report and refusing to listen to reason.

As of 20260606 logging out at the end of a heroic is currently a feature of the server. I can start reporting people for doing it, but I can hardly fault Jedi for utilizing a mechanic that is in the game, and pretty widespread at that. See the second or third post on this suggestion, where someone says people have been doing it for ages.

Ok but what about the others in there with them that are also on the boards? How exactly would it be accomplished to know if they had 0 before going in....you see....rabbit hole and very complicated issue if you don't think this through. You also skipped the part of the vis system and it is working if they are in there.

As for "feature of the game" you mean kinda like the Frosch bunker and the BH bounty check?
