Repurpose "Ranged General", "Defense General" and "Endurance"

Repurpose "Ranged General", "Defense General" and "Endurance"
This idea/suggestion is Open. You can respond to ask questions or discuss the idea and either vote it up or down if you believe it should or should not be implemented, respectively. Popular suggestions and ideas will be considered by the development team to become reality in-game.
Proposal
Suggested changes:

1. Ranged General - Change from affecting your max hit, to just "Bonus Damage" by the amount shown

2. Defense General - Change from minimal hits on you, to just "Reduce damage" by the amount shown.

3. Endurance - Change from a small amount of health recovery and stamina recovery, to a bit more health health recovery, no stamina recovery and a % gain of health after incompacitation.
Justification
Because with the exception of endurance being marginally useful, they are all otherwise useless after the changes to combat.
Motivation
Make these stats useful again.
Because of the changes to combat, these stats now do almost nothing, yet many items still give bonuses to them. They could be repurposed to do something different and useful.

Do you know what these stats do and what stats they affect?
I know what the tooltips say they are supposed to do. Plus my observations in combat tells me they do nothing. They would have been affecting your basic auto attack weapon RNG in combat if it wasnt changed to a skill based system.

I would suggest you understand what they do before testing so you know exactly what you are testing.
They do have a purpose, and not using / stacking them (I haven’t used endurance) does have a profound impact.

I suggest you understand what they do/dont do before you argue against the proposal. And if you are going to argue it, provide fact and evidence. ive made observations, youve made opinions.

For example, what is this claimed purpose you say they have? What exactly does stacking them do other than a "profound impact" list these by each individual stat i listed in the OP.

here is my position:

1. Ranged General - Currently does nothing
2. Defense general - Currently does nothing
3. Endurance - Does actually do something, but the effect is partially useless and could be improved.

Honestly, I think the impact you think they have is just imaginary.

Devs have stated what these stats do, and many players (such as myself) have spent a considerable amount of time testing them to optimise our builds.
What they affect is on the R3 Wiki, I’m happy to help you retest and show you how to achieve the optimal results from these stats.
If after reading the wiki you still believe everyone who has tested this on the server is wrong and you are right, then there’s little else I can do.

Great, can you give me a link to the info cuz I dont see it on the R3 wiki. And maybe they should update the tooltips to describe what they actually do.

Maybe put in a player voice to update the tool tips. I know in live this information wasn’t available in game, there was a dev diary on them at some point so people know what they did.
We’re in a position on R3 where we have the wiki to our disposal to make this information available for players. Just need more people to contribute to it.

Like Korto said these stats work fine, personally i have a few full 35s sets with all the possible combinations so i tested these stats in deep, if anything i would say opportune chance is the least useful combat wise other than better drops but trust me getting a full 35s set is really impactful

That doesnt describe what the stats do. "they work fine" is not an explanation. if you dont know, just say you dont know.

I’ve explained that the wiki tells you what they do, so base you’re tests on this. I’m assuming you’re not using a fully modded suit + ent buffs etc to test to get more efficient results.
The tests everyone that I have spoken to who have tested these in this manner are happy they are working correctly.

It seems your misunderstanding of how these should work is affecting your testing leading to your conclusion they don’t work.
Either way I hope you get it sorted and tested so you’re confident they work, and there’s plenty of players in Combat discord channel who will help explain to you further how they work and how to get the most out of testing. Good luck!

All the stats are accurately explained here https://swgr.org/wiki/attributes/
I didnt mean to explain the stats on this thread i was just confirming through testing that they work properly, i suggest reading that wiki link provided to better understand in game stats. And yea in game char sheet needs a rework and updated tooltips to reflect this

i see, so you basically need to have of a ton of points in them to notice any difference since its such a tiny increase. What is the most you can stack on any one stat?

yea a full 35 set will have a huge impact but a few spread points wont
