Proposal
Revert the change to shared cd for bacta shot and bacta toss.
Justification
Effectively removes 1 heal from being useful for Mdoc/MCM builds in heroics or pvp.
Motivation
I think the sperate cooldown for both abilities was better for pvp and heroic groups.
I am wanting to get community input about the change to the Bacta Toss and Bacta shot sharing the same cd.

Well everyone already knows my position on this. This change was totally out of left field and no one has been able to articulate a vision for what the healer role should be. The full healer is nearly a 100% support role. You can't "balance" it the way you would an ordinary dps class, for example. You have to have a clear vision for how many people the healer ought to be able to support. And this vision is woefully lacking.

Aren't full healers supposed to be support role?

I think the CD is shorter for both now than before the patch, I can see a method to the Devs thinking, Bacta Shot is still a larger heal but with higher Mind cost. Bacta toss is using significantly less mind then before and can be sustained over longer time. So your not losing healing your gaining options for healing tempo and mind management for longer fights because of the faster speeds of both.

No, Bacta Toss was a 2s CD and Bacta Shot was a 4s CD. That's another thing that made this change bizarre. Also, since toss has enhancers and shot doesn't, it's actually toss that heals more damage... plus it has 5m more range.

I have never understood how or why developers get the idea to change things that work. I spent skill points in two professions and yet two different skills, with different names and abilities are now sharing cooldowns? That totally makes the lesser skill unnecessary and you should just remove it from the game. Idiocy comes to mind. Revert the change.

The shared cooldown feels like a good balance change. Having two high-output heals on separate CDs made some builds too strong in PvP and heroics.
This update promotes better timing and coordination, which I believe is beneficial for group content and overall combat balance.

ah yes the old insult the makers to get your way strategy, very good

Most people who like this change are people who simply don't like the idea of a dedicated healer class in the first place. It drives them mad that there's a class they can't kill in a 1v1 or even a 2v1. So they just support anything that weakens the class.

Now that there's been time to digest the change and see the ingame outcomes without having an emotional reaction to the change, I think the change is fine. I was concerned at first that it would effectively eliminate a heal, but plenty of healers and non-healers are able to survive endgame and pvp content just fine with the change.

Regarding this comment though, you've somehow managed to be wrong, demonstrate bad faith, and give a good reason specifically why the change should be maintained all in the same statement.

To be clear, I like the idea of a dedicated healer and it was something I pushed for and balanced when I was the Support Senator, but no profession or role (except Jedi, but that's a different thing entirely) should be so out of balance that it can't be killed 1v1 or 2v1 like you are describing.

Keep things balanced; get rid of cheese. The game is much more fun for everyone that way.

Imagine being a senator and thinking a healer class should be balanced against a dps class. What's next? Do we need to make sure merchants are balanced against entertainers? September can't come soon enough.
