Slicing Terminals
A Smuggler may use the Radial Menu on various Mission Terminals to Slice the terminal for increased payout. Refreshing the Mission Terminal page will lose the benefits of the slice. There is a two minute timer between slices.
Slicing Weapons and Armor
Weapon and Armor can be modified through Slicing to receive a permanent enhancement. Slicing is a skill exclusive to the
Smuggler profession. In order to have a piece of equipment sliced, ask a Smuggler.
Each
weapon and piece of
armor has a set of customization categories. Each category requires a number of slices of increasing value in order to get the full value of the category. These slices must be applied in order.
Slicing components are obtained as loot drops or from
Underworld Smuggler Missions.

Removal
A
Contraband Recalibrator can remove the slice of any weapon or armor. These specialized tools were added to the loot pool of Contraband Smuggler missions with the 2025 June Patch.
Slicing and PvP
Smugglers have unique opportunities in Player vs. Player content.
GCW Base Busting
The Galactic Civil War need Smugglers in order to
destroy Factional Bases. Most bases will have a Security terminal which must be sliced.
GCW City Invasion MiniGame
The
Galactic Civil War City Invasions offer a collection for Slicing Supply Terminals. To take part, change your faction status to Combatant or Special forces with a recruiter, use the /pvp command, or use Change Neutral Status from the Command Browser.
Right click on the Supply Terminal. Choose the "Slice Terminal" option to trigger a mini-game. Defenders have one Supply Terminal, while Attackers have three. Time is limited to 3 minutes. Slicing through all 10 levels of security completes the mission, however slicing through only some of the levels still help your faction. Crafters will receive a Manufacturing Boosters or Material Enhancers of "
questionable legality" in addition to normal crafting supplies. Successfully slicing the first 5 steps will earn 1 GCW token, every step beyond will earn an additional token, up to a maximum of 5 tokens.
1) Scan the Supply Terminal for Faults
There are 10 layers of security. Scan each layer for faults in one of 3 components:
- Data Pipeline
- Instructions Handler
- Operations Core
With the correct option, move to the second level and repeat the process. Incorrect option returns to level one. Sequence remains the same until the terminal is reset. Finding at least 6 flaws is recommended, before continuing to step 2.
2) Slice the Supply Terminal
Once satisfied with the sequence, choose "Disconnect and Start Slicing the Terminal." New window will open with same options from the scan. Use the sequence from the previous step. Each slice takes five seconds. Making a mistake resets the terminal and gives "a debilitating shock" which applies 5 fatigue (cured by Entertainers).
